Get Serious about Selling Online is the first module in the Pathways to eCommerce – Selling Online Programme.
This practical session is for people who are starting an ecommerce business, moving from occasional selling into regular trading, or reviewing the foundations of an existing online business.
You’ll explore the key decisions and systems that help you build an online business with confidence. The session covers the difference between private and commercial selling; business planning; choosing a business name, brand and legal structure; setting up business banking, workspace and essential admin; and protecting your business as it grows.
You’ll also look at intellectual property, insurance, product safety, consumer rights, online selling rules, data protection, bookkeeping and tax responsibilities.
By the end of the session, you’ll have a clearer view of the practical steps needed to establish and protect your ecommerce business, along with a stronger foundation for the later modules in the programme.
